Hiller U-13 girls continue their winning ways

Stratford Gazette

Stratford Hiller Realty U-13 girls soccer team dominated Puslinch Wednesday evening, running away to a 7-1 SWRSL victory.

Brooklyn Muir, making her season debut after injury, scored Strikers’ first goal off an assist from Zoe Herlick.

Herlick scored Stratford’s next two goals after out-working the defence and finding the back of the net.

Strikers continued to dominate and out-hustle the opposition, allowing Ashley Humphrey to send a well-placed through ball to Muir for her second goal.

After several minutes of pressure and great passing assist by Lauren Steel, Zoe Herlick netted her third goal of the match.

Stratford’s defence, led by Abigail Vancea, continued to shut down the Puslinch attackers. Serena Mueller and Alexis Cantarutti had one of their strongest outings on defence this season.

Strikers continued to show excellent ball movement when Humphrey made a long pass to Mihret Eliasziw, who buried it into the back of the net.

Delaney Morden had another strong performance in net, making many quality saves and with a huge goal kick she assisted on Muir’s third goal of the contest.

All of Strikers players, including call-up Lauren Martin, had a key role in their latest victory.

The Hiller U-13 girls will try and continue their winning streak in Kitchener next week.
