The ANAF ‘BB’ Bantams had a busy week with three Shamrock League games in five nights.
The week started off slowly for the team as the Rock dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Mt. Brydges Cougars on Monday, Oct. 6.
Despite many scoring chances, the Rock could not find the back of the Cougars’ net.
Last Wednesday evening, the ANAF squad was at home to face the East Lambton Eagles.
Paul Petrie’s team came to play and dominated the game, skating to a deserving 3-0 SHL victory.
Max Maddock led the way with a pair of goals and also assisted on Ian Waugh’s marker. Mitch Watt had a strong game in net and recorded the shutout for the Rock.
Comeback win in Parkhill
On Friday evening, the Bantam Rock was in Parkhill to play North Middlesex and the team started off slowly, falling behind 3-0 midway through the game.
The second half was a different story, however, as St. Marys stormed back with four unanswered goals.
The winner was scored by forward Ian Bolton. He netted a shorthanded tally with just 55 seconds left to play.
Brody Schoelier got the Rock’s first goal, deflecting a Jake Douglas point shot over the Stars’ goalie and into the net. Not long after, Schoelier got his second of the night, after a great solo rush by the big winger. Mason Vernooy tied the score 3-3 after jamming a loose puck into the net midway through the third.
Max Boonstra recorded the win in net for St. Marys, with some key saves late in the contest.
Next up for the Bantam ‘BB’ squad is a home game against the South Kent Lightning tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 15). The team then travels to Petrolia on Saturday, Oct. 18 to face the Oilers.
