U-15 Strikers post convincing 10-0 victory in Fergus

Stratford Gazette

The Swanson’s Jewellers U-15 girls Strikers travelled to Fergus on Wednesday, hoping for a win after a disappointing 2-1 loss to Puslinch on home turf the previous week.

Despite a good start by FEDS early in the match, Strikers soon took control, dominating throughout both halves to come away with a convincing 10-0 SWRSL victory.

League-leading scorer Erin Kuepfer scored three times, while Julia Blowes connected twice. Julia Sim, Zuza Bukala, Josie Lamondin, Leah Matthews and Nicole Blaine each got on scoresheet with singles, with Lamondin, Kuepfer, Blowes, Bukala, Sim and Tessa Deighton assisting on the goals.

Goaltender Julia Bukala recorded her sixth shutout of the season, placing her in second in the league in scoreless games.

The Swanson’s Strikers face Cambridge at home this Wednesday, hoping to move back into second place with a win.
