DCVI, Little Falls athletes shine at Region meet

The South Region elementary school track and field meet was held last Tuesday, June 10 at St. Marys DCVI.

Abbey Thorup (Senior girls) and Haylee Truax (Intermediate girls), of DCVI, both won their respective divisions as did Alex Humphrys (Peewee girls), of Little Falls school. All three finished with 30 points.

In combined team rankings, Little Falls was second overall out of 10 schools, finishing one point behind Upper Thames (318 to 317). DCVI was third.

In the medal count, DCVI earned a meet-leading 50 ribbons, including 13 gold, while Little Falls collected 45 ribbons, including 14 silver.

Upper Thames from Mitchell had a meet-leading 16 gold.

The District meet was held this week in Stratford.
