Scheele tunes up for H-P, WOSSAA

BLYTH – Marcel Scheele, of St. Marys Salukis, won another cross-country race here last Thursday.

This time, it was at the Madill Invitational.

And it was at the same venue where the Huron-Perth and WOSSAA cross-country running championships will be held later this month.

Scheele finished first in the Junior boys race. Teammate Levi Rice was 17th.

In the Junior girls race, two Salukis also posted great results. Elizabeth Aarts was sixth overall, and Sophia Slater 10th.

In the Senior boys race, DCVI’s Taylor Cornwall was eighth overall, finishing behind St. Mikes Warriors’ star Craig Klomp who was second.

Salukis’ Natalie Topp was eighth and teammate Madeline Aarts 10th in the Senior girls race.

In the Midget girls race, Grace Hutton of DCVI was 12th. In the Midget boys race, Salukis’ Jason Haughton was 13th.

The Huron-Perth meet is slated for Thursday, Oct. 16.
