Street hockey to benefit Easter Seals

Gazette StaffZehrs Markets will be hosting the 5th Annual Ultimate Street Hockey Experience on June 8. The tournament, which will be held in the Zehrs Market parking lot, will benefit the Easter Seals. The four-on-four hockey tournament will be played on fourrinks.There will also be a silent and live auction and a barbecue. Auction items included signed memorabilia from Tim Taylor and a signed hockey stick from OHL champions, the Kitchener Rangers. The top fundraiser will win a new TV and DVD player. The top fundraising team will receive a limo ride and tickets to a Blue Jays game.The event has grown steadily over the last five years, expanding from one rink to four rinks. Teams from as far away as Caledonia have entered in this year's event. It is the only Easter Seals fundraiser planned for Perth County this year.A party at Boston Pizza will follow the tournament.There are still spaces for teams, though they are limited and must be registered by May 23.
