Good start to V-ball season

St. Michael Secondary School boys volleyball teams got their seasons off to a great start last week in Huron-Perth league play, with the senior Warriors going a perfect 6-0 and their junior counterparts 5-1.

The seniors swept F.E. Madill Mustangs 25-14, 25-12, 25-12, and St. Annes Eagles 25-14, 25-18, 25-11, behind the strong attacks of Brett Weersink and Adam Prospero. Jeremy Walsh provided hard pinpoint serves, while power hitter Danny Blackburn and right side Max Phillips dominated at the net.

The Junior Warriors swept Madill 30-28, 25-23, 25-23 and took two of three from St. Annes 25-21, 25-19, 22-25.

Strong middle attack from Jordan Hayle, Ben Valiquette and MItch McIntosh keyed the Warrior attack. Setters Nathan Walsh and Mac Campbell ran a balanced attack for outside hitters Jeremiah Campbell, Fiatsogbe Dzuali, Chris Chapman and Danny Houben
