St. Mike's seniors victorious in basketball semis

Stratford Gazette

The Stratford Northwestern senior girls basketball team lost a close semi final matchup with St. Michaels on Wednesday with a final score of 50 to 41.

The Huskies were unable to maintain momentum throughout the game with pass errors and second chance shots that did not fall.

The combination of seven for 20 points from the free throw line as well as their inability to close out and contain St. Mikes fifth year player Jenna Thompson during her three-pointer assault ended the Huskies regular season.

The Huskies look forward to WOSSAA AA held next Friday at Tillsonburg Glendale. The Huskies will enter WOSSAA as the number one double A seed from Huron-Perth. South Huron or Stratford Central will be the number 2 seed.

At WOSSAA AA the Huskies will most likely face Parkside St. Thomas and/or Ingersoll from TVRAA (Thames Valley).
