On Monday, May 30, the Godfather Bantam girls travelled to Ethel for Huron-Perth Fastball League action. It was a very even match all through the game, and it ended in a 10-10 tie.
In the top of the first inning, Meredith Hubbard started the visitors off with a single. Katelynn Feeney was next up and hit a home run to centre field.
In the bottom of the first, Ethel came back and also scored two runs and a see-saw battle was on.
"This is the way the whole game went. St. Marys would score runs and Ethel would do the same," the coaches reported.
Tanya Colbert was great behind the plate the whole evening. She tagged out a runner at home plate, while being bowled over and then threw it down to third to get that Ethel runner out, too.
It was a team effort with almost all St. Marys girls contributing a base hit.
The pitching duties were shared by Stacey Anderson and Lindsay Near.
