BBQs supported Mobility Services

St. Marys Journal Argus

Dear Editor:

Our BBQ fundraisers were a huge success!

Over the summer, St. Marys and Area Mobility Services and St. Marys and Area Senior Services held three BBQ fundraisers at Stonetown Foodland to raise funds for essential services in our community, such as the subsidized transportation and Meals on Wheels programs.

The staff and board members of St. Marys Mobility and Senior Services would like to extend a huge thank you to the owners and staff of Foodland for their generous donation of both food and location to the BBQs. As well, we would like to thank the Town of St. Marys Public Works staff for their assistance with transporting the barbecue. Also we would like to sincerely thank the volunteers who assisted with the BBQs, specifically Laura Langdon who helped at all three events.

Lastly we would like to thank all the members of the community who came out and supported such a great cause. Without our volunteers and supportive community, our BBQs would not have been as successful.

In total we raised $415!

If you missed out on the BBQs but are interested in supporting the above agencies, please feel free to make a donation (drop off location: the St. Marys Friendship Centre) or support us at one of our upcoming fundraising events: Prime Rib BBQ Dinner Sept. 4; Thanksgiving Bingo Oct. 2; Thanksgiving Lunch Oct. 11; Jockey Fashion Show Oct. 16; or by purchasing a ticket for the upcoming St. Marys and Area Mobility Services Sports and Leisure draw.

More information is available by phone at 519-284-3272 or on the Town website at www.town.stmarys.on.ca.

With Thanks,

Kelly Van Dinther

St. Marys and Area Mobility Services Coordinator
