Making a splash

Stratford Gazette

The Stratford Splash Pad Committee would like to thank Backstage Grill for hosting a spaghetti fundraiser on December 7.

Six dollars from every meal was donated to the Cash for Splash Campaign, plus $1 for every person who came to the restaurant that day. In total, $871 was raised for Cash for Splash to raise money to build a splash pad in Stratford.

Special thanks to Kevin Larson, Lisa Hansford, Jay Love and the staff of Backstage. The meal was absolutely delicious.

Look for upcoming fundraisers in the new year from local businesses?

Starting January 4, Bradshaws is hosting their annual three day sale, and if you donate a toonie to the Cash for Splash Campaign Bradshaws will match it. Thank you in advance to Carrie and Jeremy Wreford for stepping up and offering up this amazing offer.

On January 17, Crabby Joes will be hosting an all day fundraiser, with 50 per cent from all food purchases that day being donated to the Cash for Splash Campaign. Thank you to Moe Sasila, owner of Crabby Joes for this very generous fundraiser.

If you would like to make a donation to the Cash for Splash Campaign, you can do so safely and securely online at www.stratfordsplashpad.com (or directions for mailing in a donation can be found on our site as well). Donations of $25 and up will receive a tax receipt, as well as donor recognition on our website.

We are still looking for corporate sponsorship; if your business is looking for a great way to give back to your community, we would love to chat. Contact info is on our website. Thank you to all who have supported our campaign so far.

Wishing you all a happy new year ... here’s hoping we can make a splash for the kids of Stratford in 2013!
