Clarifying the NDP’s demand

Stratford Gazette

Re: Pettapiece disappointed in prorogation, news, Oct. 25

In this article you stated: “He (McGuinty) vowed the Liberals would try to negotiate zero-increase agreements with the union – something the NDP has demanded.”

This conveys the meaning that the NDP demanded zero-increase agreements be negotiated. Not true.

The NDP demanded that the government negotiate, but not what the outcome of negotiation should be.
