LDSS track team impresses at WOSSAA

LONDON – Five Listowel District Secondary School athletes travelled to TD Waterhouse Stadium for the West Regional Track and Field Championships on May 29-30 at Western University in London.

Wade MacDonald was the top Lightning finisher with a coveted top-8 finish in midget boys discus. On his first throw during the event, Wade broke the LDSS midget boys discus record, as well as threw a personal best of 36.13 metres. Teammate and follow thrower, Erica Ten Hove, also threw a season high and personal best in senior girls shot put with a heave of 9.62 metres.

Rounding out the LDSS track and field athletes competing at WOSSAA was Krista Klumpenhouwer in senior girls shot put and fellow senior Tom Dekker in the high jump.

Erin McMahon competed in her first West Regional Championship in junior girls high jump.
