John Filsinger

John Filsinger, of Listowel, quietly on Thursday, January 1, 2015, in his 84th year.  Beloved husband of Marie Filsinger.  Brother of Robert and Audrey of Filsinger of Neustadt, and brother-in-law of Lorne and Karen Wollis of Guelph.  He will be remembered by his nieces and nephews Rodger, Debbie, Gail, Kathy, Ron, Darren, and Danielle, and by their families.  Predeceased by his parents William and Elsie (Dahms) Filsinger, and by his niece Dawn Wollis.

The funeral service was held at Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Sunday, January 4th at 2:00 p.m.  Interment in St. Paul’s United Cemetery, Mildmay.

David William Burbidge

David William “Bill” Burbidge of Gorrie passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 at the age of 82.

Bill was predeceased by his wife Sandra in January of 2014 as well as his sister Marlene Figueira and his son-in-law Tony Walther.

Left to remember him are his daughter Pat Walther and her husband Rob Pettit and children Natasha, Jessica and Troy of Gorrie, his son Steven and his wife Cheryl and their children Amanda, Jason and Jenna of Wroxeter, his daughter Lori Thyssen and her children Caitlyn, Brandon, Niah and Cam of Wingham and his daughter Tammy Burbidge of Kitchener.

Bill found great joy in time spent with his morning coffee groups, visits from his good friend Tim Fralick, his Thursday afternoons with the North Perth Seniors gang at the Listowel Legion and his political volunteer duties with Ben Lobb, Bill Strong and the rest of the PC campaigning team.

A celebration of life will be held at the Gorrie United Church on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 from 2-4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation, the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Howick Firefighters would be appreciated by the family.

Lewis Thomas Bradshaw

May 8, 1935 – Dec. 31, 2014

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Lew Bradshaw, of Waterloo, following a long battle with Parkinson’s and a brief illness brought on by a stroke.

He was surrounded by his loving family who reminisced about great times together and how much he meant to us.

Cherished husband of Donna (nee Campbell) of Waterloo, dad of Sally and Jeff (Devika) and grandpa of Karch, Marissa & Adam.

Predeceased by his parents John and Elva Bradshaw of St. Marys, brothers Lloyd of Toronto and Allan of St. Marys.

Survived by sisters-in-law Irene Poole, Barb (Don) Rigney, Marnie Bradshaw, Elizabeth (Greg) Smith; nieces and nephews Carol, John, David, Ben, Linda, Mary Lou, Donna, Sandy, Janice, Shane and Brock.

Lew worked for the Waterloo Region District School Board for 37 years in the capacities of teaching and administration, ending his career as principal of University Heights Secondary School.

Friends are invited to share memories with Lew’s family during the memorial visitations at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St., S. Waterloo on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 from 3 – 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 11 - 11:45 a.m. The memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, Jan.10, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Janice Hamalainen officiating. Reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Vinings Cemetery in West Nissouri Township will occur in the spring.
