LISTOWEL – Danielle Kristen Biehn wasted no time in greeting the world, making her arrival a day early as the first baby born at Listowel Memorial Hospital in 2014.

Danielle was born on New Year’s Day at 11:02 p.m. weighing 6 lbs, 13 oz. to parents Roger and Becky Biehn. Despite Danielle’s arrival a little ahead of schedule, both parents say they were prepared for the trip to the hospital from their home near Moorefield.

“Everything was pretty much ready to go,” Roger said. “It’s not like we were running around furiously,” Becky added.

This is the first child for parents Roger and Becky, who expect that life at home will be completely changed with the new addition to the family. As far as being parents to the first baby of 2014 at Listowel Memorial Hospital, Becky said she wasn’t looking for the attention.

“To be honest I was hoping it wasn’t me, but it’s OK,” she said, adding it will make a good story for Danielle when she’s older.
