Disgraced former businessman JD Graham is back in jail after breaching a condition of his parole.
He was arrested in Stratford earlier this month by the Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad and taken to the Maplehurst Correctional Complex.
ROPE Det. Brett Anderson confirmed to the Gazette Graham was picked up on a nation-wide warrant by officers from ROPE’s central west division on Monday, Dec. 9 without incident.
The former lending manager for the Perth Community Futures Development Corporation (PCFDC) was convicted earlier this year of defrauding the non-profit organization out of over half a million dollars.
Over a five-year period Graham created fictitious loan applications that he would present to the PCFDC’s finance committee, as well as fake invoices for services not supplied. The approved loans and issued cheques were then deposited into his own accounts.
Graham was sentenced to 30 months in jail. He served a portion of that sentence and was out on a conditional release at the time of the arrest.
Details about Graham’s parole conditions are not known. The Gazette has filed a request for that information with the Parole Board of Canada.
