Halloween Haunting

Stratford Gazette

The Halloween edition of Stratford's Haunted Ghost Walks will feature guides in full character, a shadow play, and maybe even a severed head or two. This in addition to the regular fare of creepy tales from the Festival City’s haunted past.

The tour features actors from Playmakers! Theatre School. Tickets cost $20 ($15 for children) and can be purchased prior to the tours.

Oct. 25 and 26 there will be one tour offered at 7 p.m. Oct. 28-30, and 31 will see two tours offered starting at 7 and 8 p.m.

Each outing meets and departs from the tourism kiosk on York Street. They run rain or shine.

For parents wondering if it might be too scary for young children, organizer Susan Kennedy says the style is Victorian Gothic and is more creepy than downright frightening.

This is the third incarnation of the ghost tours, originally offered in 1990 and based on the research of local historian William Miller.
