Planning for fifth annual Mayors Gala begins

Stratford Gazette

The fifth annual Mayor Gala, in support of the Stratford Perth Community Foundation, will take place Saturday, Jan. 18, returning to the University of Waterloo Stratford campus.

Once again, mayor Dan Mathieson will serve as the black-tie event’s host.

“2014 will mark the fifth anniversary for the Mayors Gala, an achievement only possible by the generosity of corporate partners, gala attendees, and the hard work of a dedicated organizing committee,” said the mayor in a media release announcing the event.

The Mayors Gala draws together business leaders, philanthropists, community volunteers and spirited guests for an elegant and lively social affair. This signature fundraiser for the Stratford Perth Community Foundation raises vital operational funds to further the Community Foundation’s community leadership and outreach activities.

A pre-gala grant awards ceremony celebrates the spirit and the power of philanthropy that is alive across Perth County.

In the release, Community Foundation board chair, Bonnie Richardson, praised Mathieson for being a strong supporter and advocate for the organization over the years.

“We appreciate his leadership role on this special evening when we honour charity recipients and the individuals and business partners investing with the Community Foundation in community initiatives across Perth County,” she added.

The gala organizing committee has reconvened and is planning what it hopes will be a spectacular evening. More details will be released over the coming weeks.

Online ticket sales will commence early November.
