Connecting job seekers and employers

St. Marys Journal Argus

On Thursday, Sept. 12, from noon to 5 p.m., the Town of St. Marys, City of Stratford, and County of Perth will join forces to host a job fair at the Stratford Rotary Complex, 353 McCarthy Road in Stratford.

“Currently, 28 employers located county-wide and spanning multiple sectors will be attending,” explained a news release issued Aug. 28 by the Town of St. Marys. “Seven different service providers will also be available to assist job seekers.”

Prior to the fair, Conestoga Career Centre will host workshops to prepare job seekers for the event. Partners in Employment will also offer walk-in resumé assistance.

According to the news release, St. Marys Mayor Steve Grose “believes that employers across all sectors could benefit from this type of event.”

The release also includes the following words from Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson: “We are extremely fortunate in St. Marys, Stratford, and Perth County to have successful companies that are growing. Although manufacturing is a strong backbone of our communities, many other sectors are also enjoying success and it’s important we support them.”

“Service providers are also optimistic about the event’s potential to successfully connect job seekers and employers,” stressed the news release.

More information about the job fair can be found at www.townofstmarys.com under Town Hall, Employment Opportunities, or by following Perth County Jobs on Facebook.
