LONDON – The Listowel Legionnaires got back to their winning ways in the Thames Valley Senior Baseball League on Saturday, outlasting the London Area Angels 5-3 to pick up their third win of the young season.

With the victory, Listowel (3-2) bounced back from a disappointing 12-2 defeat at the hands of the Kincardine Cubs on June 14. Saturday’s contest versus London was re-scheduled from June 15.

Pat Kelly (2-0) got the start and the win for the Legionnaires, pitching an impressive complete game.

Chris DiCarlo and Steve Palmer each had three hits towards Listowel’s 13-hit total on the afternoon. Julio Guzman, Danny McGlynn and newcomer Trevor Martin all had two hits for the Legionnaires. Martin, an import catcher from Cambridge, made an immediate impact in his debut for the club.

Listowel continues its road trip tonight versus the Byron Bulldogs (2-4). They return home to John Bell Diamond on Friday to face the Mitchell Astros (3-2) at 7:30 p.m.
