Spring Swing brings $15,000 to Community Living

Stratford Gazette

The 10th annual Swing into Spring event, held at Knox Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, May 1, raised over $15,000 for Community Living Stratford and Area.

The sold-out night treated ticket-holders to a gourmet meal and live entertainment. Attendees bid on 109 silent auction items and 22 live auction items, all donated by local merchants and organizations.

Items up for auction included a hot air balloon ride, lunch with Peter Mansbridge, a round of golf for two at a PGA course, a private Pelee Island wine tour, and two return train tickets to VIA Rail stop between Windsor and Montreal.

"It was well beyond our expectations," said Community Living executive director Trevor McGregor. "People enjoyed themselves immensely. It was a great atmosphere."
