Stratford taxpayers paid $81,334 for the services of Mayor Dan Mathieson in 2012, according to the city’s remuneration and expense figures released last week.

That total includes $3,668 in mileage and $10,875 for other expenses.

In addition to his salary of $60,063, Mathieson received $6,728 in remuneration for meetings, including his involvement with Festival Hydro and the Police Services Board.

The second highest paid member of council was Tom Clifford, who earned $20,217. That included the standard councillor pay of $10,912 and remuneration of $5,460, as well as other expenses and mileage.

As deputy mayor, Frank Mark was paid an annual salary of $12,443. Accounting for expenses, mileage and remuneration, he received last year a total of $18,308.

Like the mayor, both Clifford and Mark were compensated for their involvement with Festival Hydro. So to was Coun. Kerry McManus, who earned a total of $18,326 in 2012.
