'Take me out to the' ... Children's Choir concert

St. Marys Journal Argus

The St. Marys Children’s Choir (SMCC) is hosting “Broadway, Baseball and ...” a fun-filled musical evening featuring stars from Broadway, American Tours and the Stratford Festival Theatre along with the SMCC Children’s Choir and Festival Youth Singers.

This fundraising concert is Saturday, March 30 at Greenwood Court, 90 Greenwood Drive in Stratford. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.

The St. Marys Children’s Choir and the Canadian award-winning Festival Youth Singers will be featured in the first half of the concert, together with our special guest performers. The second half of the evening will feature outstanding guest entertainers.

Patrick Sullivan has performed on Broadway as Gaston in “Beauty and the Beast”, Julian Marsh in “42nd Street”, and in various roles in “Titanic”. Currently performing with Disney’s production of “Finding Nemo,” Patrick also finds time to direct shows and perform as a soloist with companies and orchestras across North America.

Two sopranos, both well known to Stratford and area audiences, will also perform. Barbara Fulton has been cast as a member of the Stratford Festival acting company for 18 years in a wide variety of roles. She is currently developing her second CD with husband and composer Paul Shilton, who has also worked with the Festival Youth Singers for the past four years.

And Barbara Dunn-Prosser has spent several seasons with the Stratford Festival and the Canadian Opera Company, and has been a soloist with orchestras throughout North America. She is currently a voice instructor in the Faculty of Music at the Western University in London.

This evening promises to be an enjoyable extravaganza for music lovers of all ages.

Tickets are available from any chorus member, Jackson’s Pharmacy on Wellington Street in St. Marys, or at the Gospel Lighthouse in Stratford. Or you can call the SMCC office at 519-284-8009.
