Lecture on climate change to be held at the Arden Park

David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada, will be presenting a public lecture entitled “Climate Change: Is it really THAT serious?” on Thursday evening, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arden Park.

Phillips has been employed with Environment Canada’s weather service for over 40 years; his work activities relate to the study of climate in Canada and promoting awareness and understanding of weather and climate in the country.

He has published several books, papers and reports on the issue of climate change and is the originator and author of the Canadian Weather Calendar, now in its 25th year.

Phillips, who has been awarded the Patterson Medal for distinguished service to meteorology in Canada, also frequently appears on national radio and television as a commentator on weather and climate matters.

The cost to attend the lecture, which is part of the SnowStar Institute’s annual conference April 4-6, is $20. For more information about the conference, visit www.snowstarinstitute.org.
