A new plant will bring 70 jobs to Stratford.
On Friday, the city announced that Toyoda Gosei gained possession of its new manufacturing facility in Stratford on Nov. 1.
The location of the building – identified as an existing building in the community – has not been announced.
“We are very excited to have Toyoda Gosei join our business community,” said Mayor Dan Mathieson. “Having such a reputable international company like Toyoda Gosei invest in our community is a prime example of the benefits of fostering strong relationships with our Asian colleagues.
“We are confident that Toyoda Gosei will become an integral part of our business community. ”
The new facility will accommodate expansion business for Toyoda Gosei and will start production in July 2013.
“The pursuit of direct foreign investment is extremely difficult in this highly competitive global economy but the City of Stratford is strategically positioned logistically, technologically and culturally to be a frontrunner,” said Mathieson.
“Our skilled workforce, cultural amenities, quality of life and recent infrastructure investments such as broadband connectivity makes us an attractive location for businesses; whether it’s manufacturing, tourism, or high-tech.”
