Cultural plan taking shape

St. Marys Journal Argus

Over the past few months the Town of St. Marys has been working with Lord Cultural Resources, a well-known international cultural planning firm, on the Town’s new Cultural Plan. Over the course of the process to date, many St. Marys residents have participated in public meetings, have been interviewed by the project team, or have offered feedback via surveys.

“This input has been invaluable as work continues to create a plan that meets the Town’s cultural sector needs in the coming years,” explains Town of St. Marys Senior Manager of Cultural Services, Trisha McKibbin.

At this time, the Town and Lord Cultural Resources are again asking for the public’s assistance. They’re inviting everyone to a public meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, in the Community Centre at the Pyramid Recreation Centre on James Street South. Staff from the two organizations will update the public on the progress to date, as well as present the results of their research and their preliminary recommendations.

“And most importantly, they will be asking for your comments and feedback on the emerging Cultural Plan,” McKibbin explains.

“This is your opportunity to further shape the plan and ensure that we are on the right track. We look forward to seeing you on the 29th.”
