Gallery Stratford will present a solo exhibition by Stratford-based artist Art Green.
A respected painter whose work has been widely exhibited and collected in North America, the Gallery celebrates Green’s recent achievements with a selection of oil on canvas works and reflects on the artist’s influences dating back to Chicago in the 1960s.
With a career spanning over four decades, Green’s work is in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada, Museum Moderner Kunst in Austria, The National Museum of American Art (Smithsonian Institution), The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Yale University Art Gallery.
Gallery Stratford executive director Zhe Gu comments, “Gallery Stratford is pleased to highlight the life and work of an important artist who has contributed to the contemporary Canadian and American painting discourse. The exhibition offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on Art Green’s unique aesthetic and his evolution as an artist.”
The fall exhibitions continue to extend Gallery Stratford’s artistic vision to present dynamic works by established and emerging artists to its audience, encouraging the exploration and enjoyment of contemporary visual art relevant to its geographic location and unique community history.
