The Stratford Symphony Orchestra is hosting a Musical Sweets House Concert on Sunday, Oct. 14 from 2-4 p.m.
The concert will be held at 20 Caledonia St. The elegant white clapboard home was well-known in the Stratford area as the Gingras, then Dack-Gingras Funeral Home.
It is now Caledonia Guest House operated by newcomers to Stratford, Anna Zotova and Michel Lejkowski.
The afternoon concert is a fundraising event for the Orchestra. Tickets are $50 and include a glass of wine, tasty treats and music by the Leith Quartet.
They are available at Fanfare Books and Anything Grows in Stratford, Stewart Books in St. Marys, or by calling the Symphony office at 519- 271-0990.
The quartet will perform the Haydn Quartet in G, Op. 76 #1 and the Mendelssohn String Quartet Op. 44 #1. Franz Joseph Haydn’s string quartets Opus 76 were composed in 1796-7 and dedicated to the Hungarian count Joseph Erdody. These are among his most ambitious chamber works.
