Juno nominated singer-songwriter Peter Katz will make a stop at the Black Angus of St. Marys on Friday, Sept. 14. A modern-day troubadour, Peter plays 150-plus shows a year throughout North America and Europe.
His latest CD, Still Mind Still, has garnered exceptional reviews from critics and fans alike. Katz’s 2010 studio record, First of the Last to Know, debuted at Number One on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts and features guest appearances by Academy Award winner Glen Hansard, and Juno Award winners The Good Lovelies, and Melissa McClelland.
As well as his 2012 Juno nomination, Katz was also nominated for the Emerging Artist of the Year Award at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, and won the CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award.
In addition to the concert, a raffle will be held for a Talman series TCM50E guitar, generously provided by The World’s Coolest Music Store in St. Marys. All proceeds from the event will benefit ChildCan, an organization that helps families cope with childhood cancer, as well as a local family that is in this difficult situation.
Concert tickets are $20 and are available at the Black Angus. Reservations are required for dinner — the full menu will be served until 7:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8:30 p.m. Don’t miss this opportunity to see an award winning artist and support a great cause!
