War memorial graffitied

Stratford Gazette

Stratford police were notified on Friday that the war memorial in downtown Stratford had been defaced.

Unknown suspects spray painted black letters on the monument, which is located in Memorial Gardens and is the centrepiece of the city’s annual Remembrance Day ceremony.

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard any unusual activity around the memorial overnight, Aug. 2-3, to contact Stratford police or Crime Stoppers.

Vehicles entered, stolen

Stratford Police responded to thefts of unlocked cars and thefts of unlocked bicycles over the past few days.

They remind citizens to keep both their bicycles and motor vehicles locked at all times when unattended.
