Let your opinions on turbines be known

Stratford Gazette

On July 10 Health Canada announced an important wind turbine noise and health study. Our particular local areas residents will be heaving a deep sigh and thinking – at last, democracy at work, and maybe many minutes too late.

Health Canada, in collaboration with Statistics Canada, will conduct a research study, exploring the relationship between wind turbine noise and health effects reported by, and objectively measured in, people living near wind power developments. The study will be focused on an initially targeted sample size of 2,000 dwellings selected from eight to 12 wind turbine installation facilities in Canada.

The study results are expected to be published in 2014.

Please exercise your democratic right. Make your comments known in the next 30 days to Health Canada, your MP and MPP.

This summer of 2012 has seen announcements and plans for numerous public meetings by the wind project developers.

Please show your concern. If you live in Ontario, please press for an immediate moratorium of all industrial wind turbine projects in Ontario. Let them know your opinions and concerns. It is the place where you live, the place you call home.
