Arrest in theft at St. Marys dealership

Stratford Gazette

A man has been arrested in connection with a theft at All Roads Dodge in St. Marys.

The OPP West Region Crime United arrested the man in Port Burwell Tuesday.

Police say on June 1 two suspects arrived at the dealership and requested to view a 2012 black Dodge Ram pick-up truck.

As the salesman was showing one suspect the truck, he was pushed to the ground and the truck stolen.

The other suspect drove away in the car the pair had arrived in.

Days later, on June 4, police believe the truck may have been used in a brazen daylight robbery at Poag Jewellers in Strathroy.

Reports say two suspects smashed glass cases with crowbars and made off with an estimated $100,000 worth of jewelry.

The suspects fled the scene in a black pick-up truck matching the description of the one stolen in St. Marys.

There were stolen licence plates on the truck.

Jeffrey Ysebert, 31, of no fixed address, remains in custody and is charged with theft over $5,000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and three counts of breach of recognizance.

The pick-up truck is still missing and police continue their hunt for the second suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
