Pinnacle Business Centre launches Christmas toy drive

Stratford Gazette

The local businesses at the Pinnacle Business Centre (former DURA Automotive plant) are banding together to help the less fortunate in our community this Christmas.

The business centre has launched its Tree of Hope campaign, with all gifts collected going to the House of Blessing.

The decision to undertake the campaign was prompted by an idea from Dennis Goforth of GOTECH Networking Solutions. Goforth worked at FRAM for the first 12 years of his tech career and when he heard the plant was set to close its doors, he knew he had to do something for the community.

The businesses in the Pinnacle building are challenging neighbouring industries to join in the campaign by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy by Monday, Dec. 12.

“We also encourage customers and everyone who works in the area to also participate if you can,” Goforth said.

Donations can be dropped off at the business centre at 617 Douro St. in the front lobby, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Last year, the House of Blessing helped over 400 adults, teens and children have a merrier Christmas through the toy program.
