Scarves for a cause

Stratford Gazette

Approximately 88 red scarves were wrapped around parking meters in Market Square Monday morning free for the taking.

The initiative is organized by the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection and is to help raise awareness about AIDS Awareness Week, Nov. 25 to Dec. 1.

Information on the scarves also promoted the AIDS vigil that will take place Saturday in Stratford at Community of Christ Church from 7-8:30 p.m.

About 33 volunteers helped knit the scarves. The red ribbon is an international symbol in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
