New visiting hours across HPHA

The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA) is implementing significant changes to patient visiting hours.

Effective Oct. 15, families are welcome 24 hours a day according to patient preference, condition and care needs.

The guidelines are designed to balance the patient’s needs and the health care team’s responsibilities to provide timely treatments and procedures.

“The previous visiting hours did not meet the needs of all patients and their families,” states a HPHA press release. “Flexible visiting guidelines will strengthen the partnership between patients, families and health care providers.”

In order to ensure the safety and security of patients and staff, entrances will remain locked at night, at which point entry to Stratford General Hospital is controlled through the main entrance.
