Sharon Johnson

At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, Mrs. Sharon Ann (Hobson) Johnson, R.N. of Listowel, born March 9, 1943 in Walkerton.Beloved wife of Bert Johnson. Mother of Robert Johnson and Peter Johnson, both of Toronto, and Andrew "Sam" Johnson of Listowel. Sister-in-law of Pauline Hansen of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Eric and Margaret Johnson of Listowel, and Muriel and Richard Steeb of Cambridge.Predeceased by her brother Robert Root and his wife June, and her brother-in-law Art Hansen.Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Sunday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service was held at Trinity United Church, Listowel on Monday, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. Spring interment in Bethesda Cemetery, Moorefield.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to North Perth Community Hospice would be appreciated.Online condolences may be left at


Kathleen Semple

Kathleen (Hoffman) Semple of RR 1 Ethel passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, Feb. 7, 2011. Born in North Easthope on August 20, 1930, Kathleen was 80.Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Brydone Semple, who predeceased her on Sept. 16, 2008. She will be sadly missed by her children Calvin and Gail Semple of RR 1 Ethel, Janice White and friend Lawrence Pinkney of Mississauga, Robina Semple of Stratford, and Kevin and Marie Semple of Listowel. Dear grandmother to Crystal McCallum and husband Chad, Jodi Houston and husband Darryl, Rob Semple, Jason and Jeremy White, Brydone and Matt Semple; and her great-granddaughter Kaleigh. Dear sister of Evelyn Coxon of Milverton and Calvin and Marion Hoffman of New Hamburg. Dear sister-in-law of Murray and Marie Semple of St. Thomas and John and Beryl Semple of Atwood. Also loved by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother-in-law Lloyd Coxon.Friends were received by the family on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 6-9 p.m. at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home and for two hours prior to the funeral service being conducted at Melville Presbyterian Church on Friday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Cathrine Campbell.Carrying floral tributes were Chad McCallum and Jodi Houston. Pallbearers were Rob Semple, Jason White, Jeremy White, Brydone Semple, Matt Semple and Darryl Houston. Interment will take place springtime in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice.Online condolences may be made at
