On Sunday, Dec. 21 it won't be your ordinary "silent night, holy night" at the magical, joyful and bustling Candlelight Concert at St. John's United Church. The celebration of seasonal music will begin at 7 p.m.St. John's musical director Paul Coates, aka Mr. Paul, promises the evening will be a musical celebration of soaring voices and a variety of musical instruments coming together to create the sweetest seasonal blend. The accomplished senior choir and colourful, joyful junior choir will be singing many familiar favourites, along with new musical arrangements.Featured will be Merlin Williams, from the Stratford Shakespeare Festival Orchestra, showing his versatility on oboe and saxophone. Also performing is Mark Cassius, the Festival's Mr. Magix, and Goderich's Nancy Ross, who will show her talent and skill with a solo bell-ringing performance. There will be harp, percussion, organ, tuba, the St. John's Orchestra, piano double duos, duet and trios.There will be a free will offering with proceeds going to the Community Meal Program, the St. John's Sound System Fund and the Music Program of St. John's. There will be a reception after the concert.
