Tri-Con Excavating of London has scheduled a start date of Monday, Oct. 1 for its $417,090 reconstruction and partial watermain replacement along Queen Street East.

“There will not be a detour in place in the first week,” explained Town of St. Marys Engineering Technician Sofia Polania. “They’ll just be putting in temporary watermains and doing other minor removals for the first few days.”

The project runs from St. George Street to Charles Street. Watermains will only be replaced from Brock Street to Charles Street. Asphalt removal and replacement, meanwhile, will take place along the entire stretch.

According to Polania, a construction meeting was scheduled for Tuesday of this week to decide on precise traffic detour plans. She noted regular updates will be provided on the Town’s website, and encouraged everyone to go online for information.
