RIPLEY – Skate Wallace Figure Skating Club recently traveled to Ripley to compete in the Weskate Skate Canada central division competition.

23 Skaters from ages five to 18 showcased their skills over the two-day competition, bringing home 31 medals and 38 ribbons.

“We are very proud of the hard work and dedication of our skaters,” said Pam Jackson, president of Skate Wallace.

The event consisted of individual and team competitions ranging from skills demonstrations to solos and group numbers to impress the judges and thrill the crowds. There were over 13 clubs from across the central region at Weskate so it was a busy weekend of skating against some tough competition.?The focus now shifts to the upcoming carnival, as Skate Wallace goes to the Movies on March 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. This will include not only the Weskate competitors, but all of the Canskaters ready to show what they have learned over this year. So get your popcorn ready and come enjoy the show!
