KINCARDINE – Atwood’s Joel Bowman scored the game-winning goal as the Walkerton Hawks collected a 4-1 victory over the Kincardine Bulldogs last Friday in Western Junior C hockey.

Bowman’s power-play marker, his third goal in six games with the Hawks, 50 seconds into the second period put his team up 2-0. A pair of former Listowel Cyclones teamed up for Kincardine’s only goal. Brett Catto netted his 23rd, also on the power play, with an assist to goaltender Gatlin Burt.

Walkerton (18-2-2) hosts the Wingham Ironmen (14-10) on Friday at 8:30 p.m., then they’re in Goderich on Saturday to face the Sailors (0-22-1).

IRONMEN WIN WILD GAME

HANOVER – The Ironmen defeated the Hanover Barons in a wild 12-11 final in Hanover on Sunday.

Aaron Armstrong finished with two goals and four assists for Wingham. He now has a league-leading 32 goals and 81 points in just 24 games. Listowel’s Justin Jacklin had a goal and an assist, and Listowel’s Darren Kerr added one assist.
