Town council coffee scrum returning

St. Marys Journal Argus

Citizens looking to have a word with town council and staff about the municipal budget, or other relevant ideas, can do so on January 12.Mayor Jamie Hahn says that last year's scrum, the first-ever, was a hit with the 20 or so residents that attended, so council is giving it the go-ahead for another year. The event takes place on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in council chambers at town hall. "We'll supply the coffee and doughnuts, and you'll get to speak to your councillor of choice in a friendly atmosphere about the budget or other issues of concern.CAO Bruce Grant and representatives from Community Services and Public Works will also be on hand at the scrum.Hahn says the informal event has "a welcoming atmosphere," so people can approach council and staff in a casual way instead of making a formal presentation to council.
