Stratford police seize $50,000 worth of cocaine

The Stratford Police Street Crime Unit recently completed an investigation into the trafficking of controlled substances, primarily cocaine, within the city of Stratford.

Over the course of the three month investigation, police seized approximately 522 grams of powder cocaine as a result of a number of purchases made by police officers in an undercover capacity. The value of the seized cocaine is approximately $50,000.

Additionally, approximately $30,000 worth of offence-related property has been seized.

Four men and one female, ranging in ages from 19-31, have been arrested and charged with offences contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including: trafficking in a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession.

They have been released from custody pending court appearances.
