Local charities launching Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Stratford House of Blessing and The Salvation Army are joining together for their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

The food drive will be running from  Saturday, Sept. 29 to Tuesday, Oct. 9. The Stuff the Bus kick-off will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all local grocery stores including Zehrs, Sobeys, Foodland, Giant Tiger, and Food Basics.

Suggested items for donation include:

• Cereal

• Canned fruit and vegetables

• Juice

• Pork and beans

• Kraft Dinner

• Canned pasta, dry pasta and sauce

• Sidekicks and rice

• Peanut butter

• Lunch snacks

• Canned meat

Food can be dropped off at The Salvation Army, House of Blessing, Foodland, Sobeys, Food Basics, Giant Tiger or Zehrs

“We need the support of local residents in order to be able to feed the hungry in our community,” states a press release.
