Man dies in crash south of Tavistock

Stratford Gazette

A 68-year-old man is dead after a one-vehicle crash south of Tavistock Saturday.

Oxford County OPP and the Tavistock Fire Department responded to a report of a collision on 13th Line just before 12:30 p.m.

Police say the driver was travelling southbound in a 1977 Ford Landau when it left the roadway and struck the abutment of a cement bridge on the west side of the road.

The man died at the scene. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.

Police expected 13th Line to remain closed between Maplewood Side Road and Woodstock Street South in Tavistock until approximately 8 p.m. Saturday while the OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Team conducted its investigation.
