HOSTING DUTIES

Construction commencing

The official sod-turning ceremony for the future Steve Kerr Memorial Complex took place on June 4 at its future site in Listowel’s west end, with the project scheduled to be completed in the autumn of 2017. Pictured is the Kerr family, along with members of the North Perth recreation complex committee.

High voltage

Representatives from the Municipality of North Perth and local businesses helped unveil the new electric car charging station in Listowel recently. Pictured left to right are public works employee Rick Elg, Mayor Julie Behrns CAO Kriss Snell, Dexter Haid of J.E. Gabel Electric, Tim MacDonald of Ideal Supply, and Eric Petersen of J.E. Gabel Electric.

A glimpse at the renovations made by Ambiance Interiors through the Father’s Heart Healing Ministries before and after. Based out of Atwood, Ambiance Interiors owner Kahley DeVries said she was eager to create a meaningful space for the women’s shelter.

BREAST BUDDIES

On Jan. 27, Diana Sweets played host to the monthly North Perth Breastfeeding Buddies peer support group. The group met at the restaurant in part to help launch the Perth District Health Unit’s i-breastfeed campaign, which features Perth County moms and babies. Diana Sweets also posted on its door the first window decal in North Perth to promote breastfeeding “anytime, anywhere” to indicate that breastfeeding is welcome in the restaurant.
