North Perth Arts Council presents the 7th Annual Ceili on Wednesday, March 8, 8 p.m. at Knox Church Hall, Listowel. Providing the program of music, song and dance will be BANNA BEAG (Irish Gaelic for Little Band) members: front, Deirdre Nally and Fiona McCairley, back Ed Koenig and Derek Byrne. FIRST INSTALLMENT

Dynafit Dynamic Fitness owner Chris Kurz presented Listowel Memorial Hospital staff with $2,000 on Jan. 24, the first installment of a $10,000 total he hopes to raise by pushing/lifting a modified car the length of the 2017 Paddyfest parade route. WELCOME TO … LETTERKENNY?

Listowel had a clever addition to its town signs on Thursday morning, Jan. 26, as a fan of the popular show created by North Perth’s Jared Keeso placed plywood signs complete with the Letterkenny handle below the familiar landmarks.

AMMONIA RESPONSE

The North Perth Fire Department responded to an ammonia leak at the Listowel Memorial Arena last September, highlighting the need to plan for future hazardous material events, says CEMC Dave Colvin. Colvin has listed forming a hazardous material response plan as a priority for 2017.

LOGO REDESIGN

Perth County council approved a new updated look for the county’s branding at a recent meeting, doing away with the previous version (top) for the newer, more professional design.
