Want some sparkle?

Stratford Gazette

Judges from the volunteer Civic Beautification and Environmental Awareness Committee (CBEAC) have selected the winners and runners-up in its annual Light Up Stratford contest, which first began in 1994.

Over four days earlier this month, volunteer judges visited homes and businesses that have been decorated for the holidays, with an eye for creativity, innovation, environmental elements and curb appeal.

“Our judges had a hard time picking just one winner and one runner-up in each ward,” said CBEAC member Bonnie Henderson. “As you drive around you will see all the wonderful displays.”

The five Stratford ward and commercial winners, along with the runners-up in each group, will be honoured at a reception at the Queen’s Inn on Jan. 13.

In the meantime, residents of Stratford and the surrounding area are encouraged to take a drive in the days ahead and enjoy the winning decorations.
