Last week marked the 30th anniversary of the Bhopal disaster, a poison gas leak in India that killed as many as 10,000 people in days, 12,000 more since then, and has left a legacy of devastating health problems.
Thirty years on, the environment is not cleaned up, the victims have not been adequately compensated, and the company involved refuses to face criminal responsibility.
On December 13, you can join the Stratford Amnesty International Action Circle in writing letters to support the people of Bhopal in their call for justice. We’re holding a write-a-thon at Cafe Ten on Downie Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to write letters on Bhopal and nine other priority human rights cases.
Please drop by. Along with hundreds of thousands of letters from around the world, your words will have an impact!
