Paul Krotz

Mr. Paul Nicholas Krotz of New Hamburg passed away at Hospice Wellington on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014 at the age of 75.

Beloved husband of Shirley (Cole) Krotz. Dear father of Kevin Krotz, and Leanne and Jim Snider, all of New Hamburg. Grandfather of Natalie Atkinson and Dan Barcza of Palgrave, Ashley Krotz and her friend Adam Kuenzler of Breslau, Brittany and Matt Aho of New Hamburg, Amanda Krotz and her friend Josh Shilling of Waterloo, and Josh Snider and his fiancée Lauren Seifried of New Hamburg. Great-grandfather of Linden Barcza and Oakley Barcza.

Brother of Pauline Scrimgeour and Marie Smith, both of Milverton, and Murray and Audrey Krotz of Gowanstown, and brother-in-law of Ruth Ann and Bob Werth of Cambridge. Nephew of Audrey Orth of Listowel. Also remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Lillian (Orth) Krotz, his great-grandson Sage Atkinson, and his brothers-in-law John Scrimgeour and Bill Smith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated.

Eldon Quanz

Mr. Eldon John Quanz of Listowel passed away at Livingstone Manor, Listowel on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of the late Betty (Rassman) Quanz. Dear brother of Shirley Nelson of Waterloo and Lorne Quanz of Waterloo, and brother-in-law of Laura and Brian Booth of Richmond Hill. Godfather of Jason Booth.

Uncle of Jason Booth, David and Heather Nelson, Paul and Angela Nelson, Gail Nelson, Susan and Mark Healey, Kim Quanz and Laura Zago, and Larry and Janice Quanz. Also survived by 15 great-nieces and great-nephews and six great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Eldon and Betty were faithful members of Calvary United Church in Listowel, where Eldon taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School superintendent. He both sang in the choir, and was the mission and service treasurer for over 40 years.

Eldon was recognized for his dedicated service to the Town of Listowel from 1988 to 1997, to the Fairview Cemetery Board from 1988 to 1999, and for his work as the superintendent of Fairview Cemetery. He was an active curler with a highlight 8-ender game in 2001.

He was honoured in a ceremony at Queen’s Park for volunteering 500 hours to St. John’s Ambulance, and belonged to the Horticultural Society. Eldon happily volunteered countless hours with passion, and always in a quiet manner.

Visitation was held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Sunday, Nov. 2 from 1-4 p.m. The funeral service was held at Calvary United Church, Listowel on Monday, Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
