Mary Bridge

Mary (MacLeod) Bridge of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, Sept. 15, 2014. Born in Carishader, Isle of Lewis, Scotland on Nov. 25, 1927, Mary was 86.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Bridge (Sept. 30, 1992). Much loved mother of Theresa Sargent of Guelph, Patricia and Nevel Jones of London, David and Della Bridge of Providence Bay, Judith and Stephen Molyneaux of Thamesville, Robert Bridge of London and Carolyn and Dale McTaggart of London.

Loving grandma of Leah, Sheena and Pheona Sargent, David Jones, Matthew and Tyler McTaggart, and Robert and Sarah Bridge. Also loved by her 11 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews in Ontario, Scotland, England and Australia.

Predeceased by her parents Kenneth MacLeod and Mary Smith; her brothers Findlay, John, Kenneth and Donald; and her sisters Dalina and Annie.

Friends were received by the family on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at the Gorrie Visitation Centre of the Schimanski Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Hawkins of Gorrie United Church officiating. Interment took place in Wroxeter Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

Lloyd Tompkins

Mr. Lloyd George Tompkins of Listowel passed away peacefully at Caressant Care, Listowel on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at the age of 95.

Beloved husband of the late Blanche (Chapman) Tompkins. Father of Gerald and Elaine Tompkins of Waterloo, Ken and Jane Tompkins of Guelph, Richard and Lori Tompkins of Abbotsford, B.C., Rob and Joan Tompkins of Listowel, and Margie and Kelvin Bowers of North Battleford, Sask.

Grandfather of Susan and Mike Gehl, Andy and Andrea Tompkins, Nathan Tompkins, Ben and Rachel Tompkins, Jennifer and Ryan Kononoff, Leanne Tompkins, Heather and Adam Noble, Jessica and Kevin Rietema, Julie and Steve Kehoe, Carolyn and James Jerrard, and Kim Bowers and her fiancé Kevin Schwieger. Great-grandfather of Abby and Emily Gehl, Giacomo, Cristiana, Giulia and Luca Tompkins, Noah Tompkins, Ethan Kononoff, Hannah, Elizabeth and Audrey Noble, Jordyn and Seth Rietema, Adelyn Kehoe, and Malcolm Jerrard.

Predeceased by his daughter Janet Tompkins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 6-9 p.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, where the funeral service was held on Friday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

Memorial donations to Youth for Christ would be appreciated.

Judy Fraser

Mrs. Judy Pearl Phyllis (Fish) Fraser of Newry passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at the age of 67.

Beloved wife of the late William Fraser. Dear mother of Douglas Fraser and Joyce Parrott of Mitchell, Roger Fraser of Listowel, and Colin Fraser and Shelly Kropf of Brussels. Grandmother of Garrett, Liam, Jayden, Kierstin and Kylynn.

Sister of Peter and Tina Russell of Caesarea, Linda and Randy Martyn of Russeldale, Betty Watson of Seaforth, Barry and Sandy Fish of Walkerton, Kimett Davis of Stratford and Al Butson, Kim and Karen Russell of Mitchell, and Wanda and Dave Gauthier or Orangeville. She will also be remembered by her dear friends.

At Judy’s request, her body has been donated to medical science. Please join the family to celebrate Judy’s life at the Listowel Legion on Friday, Oct. 10 from 6-10 p.m.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel (519-291-4840).
